Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions is the third game in the popular, fantastic series of Geometry Wars – but this time it takes on new developers – Lucid Games. A dual stick shooter known to make the genre trendy again, Geometry Wars is pure (slightly frustrating) fun – and since the previous game in the series, the series has evolved Retro.
On the first film, in perfect, sophisticated color harmony, you have a twin-stick shooting level design and potentially superhuman reflexes reached their limits. Some of the most punishing, poorly crafted boss battles on this side of a side-scroller SNES rests on the other tape. That Geometry Wars 3 remains a great game amid boss fights that turned me into an apoplectic, rage-fuelled, profanity-spewing beast is a testament to how much Lucid Games has mastered its score-chasing, polyhedral exploding art.
